Registration for IL Palooza 201 is now open!
The fourth annual IL Palooza will be held at MacEwan University, City Centre Campus (room 7-278) on Thursday, April 21th 2016, from 1p.m. to 4p.m. Registration is free, but space is limited.
Presentations will include topics such as:
– Working with a writing centre to present cross discipline drop-in workshops.
– Providing one-on-one research consultations as an essay research tutor.
– Contextualizing searching with a short prezi.
– Including elements of critical information literacy as part of teaching practice.
– Using Socrative as an assessment tool.
A new professional development initiative, Teaching Triangles, will also be launched, and attendees will have the opportunity to discuss the landscape of IL professional development.

The fourth annual IL Palooza will be held at MacEwan University again this spring! If you are interested in attending this single afternoon workshop, please save-the-date for April 21, 2016. Registration is free and will open in March.
We are currently accepting proposals for short presentations. Presentations can be on any topic relating to information literacy in the post-secondary environment. The topic should reflect a practical approach or innovative solution to a real-life instructional issue, be it in an online or face to face environment. Presentations are to be brief, a maximum of 15 minutes in length.
If you are interested in presenting at this workshop, please send a short description of no more than 250 words, along with the title, presenter name(s) and contact information to email@example.com by Friday, March 4, 2016. Selected presenters will be notified by March 11, 2016.
IL Palooza is a friendly, casual, information literacy workshop where professional academic librarians from across Alberta will gather and share effective information literacy strategies, innovations and trends. Though geared towards an academic library environment, this event is transferable to other library settings and library staff from any local libraries are encouraged to attend!
